MARAJACU

In development for iPhone & Android

Pinball that runs on passion fruit.

A passion-fruit refinery, asleep in the dark. One ball wakes it up: vats surge, juice races through the glass, the press lights up the night. Keep it running.

A cut passion fruit, its golden pulp glowing like a lamp.
A kicker arm fires back in a shower of sparks.
The ball strikes a vat of glowing juice.
MARAJACU on a phone: the refinery table at night, brass flippers at the bottom, a glass channel of glowing juice, three juice vats, a glass helix round a copper still and the press at the top.
2–5 min
A run, first ball to last. Made for a spare moment.
Daily
One ranked challenge a day, the same table for everyone.
Skill
decides the score. Nothing you can buy improves it.

Every shot wakes a machine.

Bumpers are vats of glowing juice. Ramps are glass pipes. Targets are pressure gauges. Hit something, and the refinery answers.

  1. Close-up of a kicker arm firing beside the chrome ball, sparks flying off its hinge over the tread-plate floor.

    01 · Kicker arms

    Steel strikes steel.

Send the ball into one and it fires back in a shower of sparks.

  2. Close-up of the chrome ball against glass vats of glowing amber juice, valve wheels and a roller conveyor behind them.

    02 · Juice vats

Strike a vat. Watch it surge.

Glass drums full of glowing juice boil over in amber light.

  3. Close-up of the chrome ball inside an amber glass pipe spiralling round a copper still.

    03 · The glass helix

    Ride the juice pipe.

A spiral of amber glass round a copper still, and your ball inside it.

  4. The press: a glass chamber of crushed purple passion fruit glowing amber above a riveted brass arch, the chrome ball at its foot.

    04 · The press

    Feed the press.

Passion fruit crushed in a glowing chamber, at the top of the table.

The whole refinery table seen from straight above: the press at the top, the glass helix round a copper still, the fruit lift, three juice vats, a glowing glass channel across the middle, the kicker arms and the brass flippers at the bottom.

The table

One table. A whole refinery.

The pressing stage of a passion-fruit refinery, built as a pinball table: brass, copper, glass and steam, with the lights of the city beyond.

  • The juice is the light

Vats, pipes and the press glow amber against the night.

  • Machines on every rail

The still, the fruit lift, the press: the table is the factory floor.

  • Made for portrait

Flippers under your thumbs, the whole table in view.

Questions

Asked first.

When does MARAJACU come out?

It has no release date yet. The game is in development, and this page will say when it is ready.

Are these pictures from the game?

They show the refinery we are building for the game, in its own 3D world. MARAJACU is still in development, so details will change before release.

Which phones will it run on?

iPhone and Android phones, through the App Store and Google Play. It is played in portrait.

Can you pay to win?

No. Paid purchases never give a competitive scoring advantage, and the daily ranked challenge uses the same equipment, rules and table for everyone.

Will there be ads?

No forced ads. If rewarded ads ever appear, they will be opt-in, outside ranked runs, and their benefit will be capped.

What does MARAJACU mean?

It is an invented twist on maracujá, the Portuguese word for passion fruit. Say it ma-ra-JA-cu.
